This test is intended to be used as an aid in the diagnosis of CMV infection.

Lavender-top (EDTA) tube, yellow-top (ACD) tube, or sterile container (CSF or urine).
Plasma must be separated from cells within 24 hours. Send in a plastic transport tube. To avoid delays in turnaround time when requesting multiple tests on frozen samples, please submit separate frozen specimens for each test requested.
