Collection Instructions:

State patient's age and any known hematological data on the request form.

Schleicher and Scheull No. 903 filter paper or lavender-top (EDTA) tube.

Pediatric: Fill three circles on Schleicher and Scheull No. 903 filter paper with a single application of blood from patient finger-stick or heel-stick, or 0.5 mL EDTA (lavender-top) whole blood.

To avoid delays in turnaround time, please submit a separate lavender-top tube for each test requiring a lavender-top.

Filter paper: Maintain at room temperature; Whole blood: Refrigerate at 2°C to 8°C.
