Overview:

HTLV-1 infections can be confirmed and differentiated from HTLV-2 infections by using highly purified recombinant proteins or synthetic peptides which are either type common or type specific.

This test is not for screening purposes and should be used as supplementary testing for patients previously identified as reactive for antibodies to HTLV.
