Overview:

Ochratoxin A (OTA) – A toxin produced by different Aspergillus and Penicillium species — is one of the most abundant food-contaminating mycotoxins. It is also a frequent contaminant of water-damaged houses and heating ducts. Exposure typically comes from inhalation in water-damaged buildings.

Collection Details:

Collection Instructions:

1. Collect urine into the conical cup provided to approximately half full. Urine may be collected at any time of day. No fasting is required.

2. Pour urine into plastic tube. FILL ONLY ½ FULL. Securely seal the enclosed cap.

3. Print on the specimen tube, in the designated areas: Date collected, patient’s first and last name, and Date of Birth (DOB).

4. Seal specimen in biohazard bag and place in foam cavity inside the collection kit box.
