Overview

Tiny Health offers a specialized Pregnancy Gut Health Test designed to support women who are trying to conceive, are pregnant, or are new mothers. This innovative test focuses on understanding the gut microbiome's role in maternal and infant health, recognizing that the first 1,000 days of a child's life are crucial for establishing a healthy gut microbiome. Maintaining a healthy gut microbiome during pregnancy is essential as it can influence not only maternal health but also the baby's development. A balanced microbiome can reduce the risk of conditions such as eczema, food allergies, and asthma later in life. Furthermore, understanding gut health can help manage symptoms that may arise during pregnancy, such as digestive discomfort or inflammation.

Timing for Testing: For the most accurate and helpful results, we recommend taking the Tiny Health Pregnancy Gut Health Test in both your first trimester and third trimesters of pregnancy. This will provide valuable insights into how your microbiome evolves and how it might impact your baby’s development.

Sample Collection: The test requires a stool sample, which you will collect at home using the provided kit. The collection process is designed to be mess-free and simple, taking about five minutes.

Reference Range: Adult

Patient Preparation:

Avoid Certain Substances Before Testing:

Antibiotics: Wait at least 4-6 weeks after taking antibiotics before testing.

Antibiotics can disrupt your gut microbiome, and testing too soon may lead to inaccurate results.\

Probiotics (Optional): If you want to see your gut microbiome without the influence of probiotics, stop taking them 3-5 days before testing.

DO NOT discontinue prescription medications without consulting your healthcare provider.
