Overview:

This test provides a clean and simple way to assess the health of your vaginal microbiome, using advanced technology to detect specific bacterial strains and their proportions. Designed for women over 18, it identifies your Vaginal CST (Community State Type), offering detailed insights into your vaginal health.

Transport Container: The collection swab should be placed back in its original box and shipped using the prepaid return label attached to the bottom of the mailer box. It should be returned to our lab in Maryland. The sample is stable at room temperature and does not need to be frozen during transport.

Patient Preparation:

  • Sample Collection: The test requires a vaginal sample, which you will collect at home using the provided kit. The collection process is designed to be mess-free and simple, taking about five minutes.
  • Avoid Certain Substances Before Testing:
  • Antibiotics: Wait at least 4-6 weeks after taking antibiotics before testing. Antibiotics can disrupt your gut microbiome, and testing too soon may lead to inaccurate results.
  • Probiotics (Optional): If you want to see your microbiome results without the influence of probiotics, stop taking them 3-5 days before testing.
  • DO NOT discontinue prescription medications without consulting your healthcare provider.  
  • Avoid testing:
    • DO NOT collect your sample while menstruating.
    • DO NOT have sex for 24 hours before sample collection.
  • Age testing restrictions: This test should only be used for women over 18.

  • If you are pregnant, talk to your healthcare provider before using this collection kit.
  • Wash with warm water if collection tube liquid comes into contact with eyes or skin.
  • Do NOT ingest the liquid in the collection tube.
  • Do NOT spill the liquid in the collection tube.
  • Do NOT lay the swab tip down or touch to any other surface once it is removed from the packaging.
  • Store at room temperature, out of direct sunlight.
  • It is normal to notice a slight discharge or blood on the swab after collection.
