Overview:

The Evexia Diagnostics Comprehensive Prenatal Panel includes all of the carefully selected tests provided in the Complete Prenatal option.  This panel also incorporates 17-OH progesterone, anticardiolipin antibodies, antiphosphatidylserine antibodies, a dRVVT screen, prothrombin time, partial thromboplastin time, and a herpes simplex virus assessment.

Anticardiolipin antibodies are often present in individuals with antiphospholipid antibody syndrome.  Anticardiolipin antibodies are also found with increased prevalence in women with unexplained recurrent miscarriage.  However, the impact on future pregnancy outcomes in patients with negative lupus anticoagulant results needs better quantification.

Antiphosphatidylserine antibodies are used in conjunction with β2-glycoprotein and anticardiolipin antibodies in diagnosing antiphospholipid syndrome.  They are also used for assessing thrombotic risk and other obstetric complications such as miscarriage or fetal growth restriction.

The dilute Russell's viper venom (dRVVT screen) is used for detecting and confirming or helping to exclude the presence of lupus anticoagulants.

The IgG antibodies specific to the Herpes Simplex Virus (HSV) are vital to confirm or rule out possible infection with herpes simplex types 1 and 2 in prenatal patients.  HSV can cause neonatal herpes and result in eye or throat infections, damage to the central nervous system, mental retardation, or even death.

This panel comes with a free* Functional Health Report when Evexia Nutraceuticals are recommended.  *A $5 fee is applied when recommendations other than Evexia Nutraceuticals are selected.
