Patient Preparation:
8 hour fast prior to collection. Patient may drink water, black coffee or tea (no dairy or sugar). Fasting includes refraining from supplements, such as fish oil. Non-fasting samples will be rejected.
Collection Instructions:
Draw, invert 8 times, and centrifuge for 10-15 minutes at 1100-1300 RCF. Pour off the serum into a Serum Transfer Tube or pipette off the plasma into an empty aliquot tube and label as 'plasma'. Refrigerate sample.
